Nacho, I can't believe what I've just found here! This problem has been driving me crazy for five years, and I can't wait to get the car out on Sunday and make this mod. Thanks so much for the detailed explanation.

you're welcome!!! I don't like cut and modify stock stuff. I don't want an ammeter like an ornament on cluster, plus is more accurate reading than a voltimeter. you allways can get a wrong reading on any gauge at any time so both are better working together PLUS I like to keep my Mopar COMPLETE Mopar ( maybe thats the reason why I want to use a MP camshaft against all advices LOL ), so just getting better what already is there is my option. I'm kinda a Purist ;D but with conscience. so you know now... get a newer alt, MOPAR one, from any donor ( better if C body full equipped, or truck or Cop, or Taxy car ), or get an upgrade kit to install on your stock alt and will be fine AS FAR you upgrade the wiring. I didn't invented anything. MaMopar already had those parallel wires running on cars with tow package and 60 amps alts. I'm just refreshing with explanation about why and how.

I put in an 80 amp alternator last year, but now it overcharges when I'm driving, so I wind up running the fan and turning the lights on. Maybe this will help. I'm thinking that I have a bad connection somewhere, and this all started the last time i had my instrument cluster out. Maybe the wires are a little loose at the ammeter. Anyway, it's great to have a clue now! Thanks.
