Don't know if it will help or not, but Bill and Rose Evans at evanswiring.tripod.com/ have been very helpful to me in the past when I needed parts (terminals, blades, connector bodies) to repair existing harnesses. They can make complete new ones too. I also found some of the terminals I needed at the local Napa.

one upgrade Im dueing is to go to a 1 wire internal regulater 100 amp alt wich wires directly to the battery and will lower the amp load going through the main wireing harness and also provide the added amps for electric fans, fuel pump and water pump in the near future. www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,33574.0.html ;D

Having more fun than should be aloud this is part of the primary wire coming from the fuse panel up to the volt meter. the black and red primary wires were so melted that they were fused to many of the smaller wires in the harness. out of necessity I ended up replacing many of the wires. there is a major junction point were 5 wires meet the last guy even put a but connector on it there ended up making a nice western union spice in this area then soldering it. The spice was so thick I had to get out my refrigeration torch on low to get enough heat in the wire to get good penetration at that joint. wile the dash wash out I took the time to clean up all the connection and replace all the bad bulbs half of them were out. well heres some of my spaghetti ;D the pictures above are what I was dealing with happy to say I finish replacing all the wires and added a second fuse link and the Parallel circuits NACHO had recommended tonight tomorrow I'm going to put the batt in and check all the lights, fans, blinkers and any thing else I can check without a motor. hoping to get the old trans out and get the new one in and If all gos well I will drop the 528 in then push her in the garage till I get the rest of the parts for the fuel system and little odds and ends. also pulling the sending unit in the gas tank and replacing the 3/8" pickup with a 1/2 " this will consist of bending 1/2" tub to match the shape of the original. Then cutting the old one out drilling the hole for the tube out then brazing in the new one. I will document the mod and post it at a future date.

Bill, I don't know if this thread is scaring me, or motivating me!!
I DO know that it should be titled: Dash Wiring Repair Project... otherwise I'm never going to find it again, when I get to that point...
Speaking of which, I took one look under the black SE dash (the one backed into the garage with the hood off)--on Tire Skates, and uttered a few choice expletives, and decided that mess could wait..
I won't even begin to describe it...no dash lights & dome light are the least of my future problems!! But that's for another thread.
Bill, I know you're getting tired of snapping pics, but I, for one, am extremely grateful for all of your input...visual and descriptive...
Thanks! Jer.

I have to say that since I have made that upgrade I could FINALLY forget about the overheating, and heavy discharges reads with high peaks variations, and I have EVERYTHING CONECTED INSIDE THE CAB, including relays FROM ALT SIDE OF AMMETER. I check with regularity the temp of theammeter and studs and never got hot points anywhere. Of coruse I don't have 100 amps alt, but yes a higher output stock alt, I think around 70 amps. 100 amps won't be a problem either.
Only "melting" points I'm getting right now are: -fuse box on dome/brakes lighst fuse, but thats a diff story -blower plug... probably because loosen/dirty/rusted plug... still checking that -blue terminal at alt brush... probably because loosen/dirty terminal too
those are the points I'm aware off right now.
to make that just need to be sure about goiod contacts on ammeter stud. the stud itself becames on the second main splice but is GOOD ENOUGH to support that load, as far clean and tight terminals.
71_deputy made that too and got good succes too as far I know, I think he made before me in fact. Some others on DC.com too.
I didn't invented anything, just got that idea from same MaMopar diagrams and incorporated on mine. Check the 71 diagrams on tech archives and will see on engine bay section the parallel wires already exposed

That is so scary! A PITA to fix now, but tremendous peace of mind later.
