I'm prob going to by pass those bad connections and keep on moving but will do it right if I can find the parts.

M&H Electrical Fabricators are making reproduction wiring harnesses for musclecars. They were recommended to me by Rick Ehrenberg of Mopar Action magazine. They have a new line of Mopar harnesses, will also customize it for MSD, nitrous or other aftermarket stuff/options. If you want to tackle wiring yourselfe, the best thing is to find a library or old book store that has the old Mitchell Service manuals. These have the bast wiring diagrams. Every time I bought a car, the first thing I use to do was go to the library and make a copy of the wiring diagram for my new car.

hey guys it just keeps getting better was out fixing and replaceing wires under the hood today. got rid of all the loose connection and all those terrible quick spice crimp connecter lots of soidering well then decided to get under the dash and take care of the spices that I did no were there. well guess what there was a lot more than I thought going on under there. burnt wire at fan switch for heater , amp meter wires almost burnt off and the connection in the bulkhead going from the fuse link to the amp has no less than 3 spices and the connection is burnt at the bulk head. ended up dropping the steering wheel and pulling the dash out to get in there. does anyone have a wireing diagram for a 73 se with rally gauges with no tach??? what a pain this is becoming never had these problems with my older mopars 65,67and 68

Lots of us have never had these problems - but they are not uncommon. Best I can tell, if you never try to drive with a bad battery or failed altenator: even the clock would still work. Oh, I know: that was a horses $%#^ response. I didn't like hearing it either. With Nacho on our side & modern electronics being what they are, there is no reason we can't come up with some really good solutions to prevent this sort of thing!!!

I'm looking into taking an automotive wiring/electrical course at the local Community College before I start on the 2 SE's.
The 66 has "issues" that are stumping me so far.
I admit that auto wiring intimidates me.
And Brock...I think you spelled $%#^ wrong!

the wireing part is not too much a problem for me because I have been a appliance tech for 20 yrs wireing and chaseing circuits is what I do. The biggest problem Im haveing is that this thing has had so many quick fixes that without a wireing diagram its almost impossible to figure out what the last guy did. This car has had a charging problem from the minute I bought it something I think the seller didn't bother to disclose. The further I dig into it the more spices Im finding there are wires every were bypassing factry connecters. so a wireing diagram would be a great help but if not I am going chase each wire one at a time till I get er done. one upgrade Im dueing is to go to a 1 wire internal regulater 100 amp alt wich wires directly to the battery and will lower the amp load going through the main wireing harness and also provide the added amps for electric fans, fuel pump and water pump in the near future. this will also clean up a lot of the wires running all over the place delet the volt regulater ,electric choke wireing,a/c wires and switch the duel ballast resister for the single that goes with my crome box ecu. just can't believe the stuff the last owners did to this car everthing turns into a major project just undoing all the stuff that was done wrong before I can replacwe or upgrade anything. It seems like its turning into the endless project ;D
