Has anyone tried the Stealth Heads from the 440 Source?
Could we run an 11:1 piston on pump gas with these?

I have heard good things on other sites about the heads.
11-1 with alum heads no problem .
Im running 11.6-1 static compression in the 528 and have ran 11-1 compression in a 440 with iron heads no problem.
believe it or not you can run realy high compression with pump gas its all in the cam you just need enough duration to bleed some presure off.
there is a difference between dynamic compression (actual cranking cylinder pressure) and static compression.
with aluminum heads you can run 1 more point of compression over iron .

I'm not gonna stroke the motor. What do you think about a hydraulic cam with these heads?

Im running a comp cams exstream energy hydralic 285/297 545/545 lift 106 center 110 lobe sep.
I suggest you call and give them a breif discription off your set up and what your trying to get from it.
I'm sure any good cam co. will be more than happy to help you with the proper spec for your set up.
also theres a company called hughes engines and they offer cam specifically design around the .904 lifters in our mopars they are a fast ramp design I plan on useing them in the future when switch to a roller cam set up.

So I just bought a hughes cam HEH2328AL for my 360 haven't installed it yet. I'm waiting for my iron magnum heads that are on order. I plan to use an air gap dual plane manifold and a holley 650 carb. I gotta say that the hughesengines.com is an excellent site and easy to navigate through. My suggestion is go check it out. I'll keep you guys posted when I get this all put on.

As for the Stealths, I'm waiting on my set to finish up through Modern Cylinder heads, I'll get some batteries for the camera, and will take some pic's. As for Hughes, I've talked to numerous cam grinders, including some that use to grind Hughes cams for them, and all have said that they put a little too much lift into their cams. The guy who is going to grind my solid roller for my motor put's the spec's in the .600 - .650" range and a minimum of 250* duration (probably at .050 I'd have to imagine), can't remember what the center line is, but I'm thinking it was either 112* or 114*a bit of a cam eh? Once I get the spec's from the heads, are far as flow #'s, I can forward those to the cam grinder, and he'll know exactly what all to do. His name is Dan down in West Palm Beach Florida.

Has any one ever come across a comparison between Stealth heads and others? Im curious to how it compares in performance in engine builds with them?

Has any one ever come across a comparison between Stealth heads and others? Im curious to how it compares in performance in engine builds with them? As it's been said, the Stealth head is pretty much an Edelbrock Performer RPM head, but at a lower cost. Now, how does it compare with other heads, in some cases they out perform, in others they get beat. In cases I would say they out perform would be to compare them to factory cast iron heads..... In cases I would say that they'd get beat is when comparing them to the Indy heads. This is quite broad to say the least, but I hope that it gives you an idea. Also about the factory heads -vs- the Stealths, as they basically say, their heads are based off of factory heads, but made of aluminum, and have larger than factory valves (2.14 intake and 1.81 exhaust which is the common oversize valve ran in factory heads like the 451, 906, 915, ect). The max wedge and hemi heads are in a different ball game. I'm sure there will be questions and comments, and eventually I'll be able to get to them.

Thanks "hotrodder" I've been thinking about buying them for my engine build. I've got 906 heads (68-70) open chamber heads.

Thanks "hotrodder" I've been thinking about buying them for my engine build. I've got 906 heads (68-70) open chamber heads. Not a problem. I've got a set of 516 closed chamber heads, a set of (what I have a very good notion of) 452's on the 440 outside now, and another set of heads (can't remember what they are though). And now my expensive custom Stealth heads.
