I found a rallye gauge cluster and replaced my standard dash in a 1971 charger r/t. None of the gauges work. The gas, temp, and oil pressure stay at the bottom of the scale. I have checked the voltage to the instrument voltage regulator and have 12 volts. The output of the voltage regulator for the gauges fluctuates from around 1 to 7 volts. Is this normal? Also the gauges in the rallye dash read open with an ohm meter and the gauges in the standard dash read around 12.5 ohms. Am I missing something? Help!!? Thanks

you burnt the gauges... guages are designed to work with 5 volts.
Damaged voltage limiter ?
where did you check the gauges voltage ? how did you feed them ?

The 12 volt wire is connected to the 12V side of the voltage divider and the gauges are fed from the voltage divider. The divider output varies all over the place. I ordered an new one a few days ago. still waiting for it to arrive.

It appears the gauges are toast. I will have to start a search for replacement one's. Thanks for your help.

Did you get it figured out? I am about to do the same with my 71, and just wanting to make sure I get everything right from learning from y'all.
