I'm In the process of Changing my fuel lines. The previous owner used 11/32 Fuel line. It seemed to work out but I don't think it's correct.
What is the standard fuel line size for my 1971, 383, with a 1966 block?
Are there different sizes for the line that runs from the carb to the pump verses the gas tank to the pump?
Is it 3/8 or 5/16 ? I doubt it's 11/32.

I would think 5/16" is the standard size for all cars except maybe hemi cars or 440-6's. I am pretty sure all the LA,B, and "normal" RB got the 5/16" line.
If you are replacing the entire line anyways, I would just go 3/8". You can always upgrade the sender later or leave as-is. The bigger line shouldn't hurt anything.
That being said, with a 383, you would probably never need the increased flow from a 3/8" line unless you do a stroker or have some really hot racing setup. Many people run 5/16" lines on 500 ci strokers and still are fine.

Yup thank you. 5/16 it is. I didn't change the entire lines front to back so I went with 5/16.. I was confused since I found 2 different size lines from the previous owner.

im pretty sure 5/16 was a stock size for everything that wasn't high performance. 3/8 is what I have seen on HP cars.

Mine's not stock but I use 3/8 from fuel pump to a T next to the carb that splits into 2 3/8 going into the carb. It's 5/16 from the gas tank to the fuel pump though.
