No, I don't think so . I went for a family drive . After fueling up and and returning home, my wife tells me there is a fuel leak under a car . The fuel was leaking from the gas cap. It seems that I may have over filled the tank . When I park it in the garage , the slight grade of the garage floor caused the fuel to leak from the gas cap .
Anyone experience this before? The ground at the station was level ( no leak ). In my garage the ground is pitched. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this and if its a common issue due to the filler position with 3rd gen chargers.

Wow, that's a flashback. As tightly as things are sealed on new cars, this isn't a condition you see anymore. I remember you used to see this fairly regularly as people were leaving gas stations....they'd overfill the tank, and get a strong "slosh" of fuel back up the pipe as they would accelerate into the street leaving the station, puking gas onto the ground. Ah, the good old days! LOL
I'd say if you have the right cap, and the seal to the tube is good, this is probably normal.

It worried me at first. I was thinking it was something worse. I recently changed all rubber fuel lines front and back. A new sending unit seal . My last charger was a 68 , so we know this scenario won't happen. My old Impala's gas cap was on the side of the rear quarter . I've had many other cars but don't remember this happening. I'm just glad it wasn't something that was gonna lay my car up until I can repair it. Sent from my PC36100 using proboards

Well, if you crawl under and take a look, you can see the "incline" on the fuel filler pipe. So your floor would have to have a pretty steep angle to it. Play it safe and check things over. But I'm just saying I remember seeing this on cars with rear fill tanks.

Yes , I looked things over. It was from the cap . The fuel was right to the top of the neck . It was because of the grade of the garage floor. Nothing from where the filler neck meets the tank either. I did give it one extra squeeze after the pump clicked off. I don't usually top off . The way this baby drinks fuel , my mindset was fill it up cause your gonna need it. I know better next time.
