I like pins just fine... but can take em or leave em. Either way, a bulge hood always looks great. I would not cut a perfect hood to put them on though.

I really do wish I had more than the sn of my first Charger - well that & a few parts I kept. Since my, at the time, girlfriend wrapped it around a telephone pole, it was sold for parts. Before it was sold, though, I bought a Charger that is actually numbers matching & original. Right or wrong - hey I was a kid at the time - I transplanted the hoodpins & tach & every screw, bolt or whatnot that the new one needed. It's 1 of 94 1970 R/T SE A35 trailer towing cars. Yep, got the cool performance stuff with an A/C!!! It's a car that deserves to be preserved as it was built - a pure n simple by the book restoration. There are lots of Chargers that deserve such consideration: however, there are a whole bunch more that look up to the stars & hope for better. Go for it!!!!!!!!!!

Nacho, with Tom on both counts...I think either one looks just as good, AND normally I wouldn't cut a perfect hood....BUT: In your case, with your car set up the way it is AND knowing you probably won't be entering it in any Concourse class judging show, I think you ought to go for the pins!!If you don't like it, you can always plug 'em the next time you're ready to paint him. I like the pins enough that I really don't know which way I'd go if I only had the one 3rd Gen, but since I have the luxury of 2, I'm going to leave the blue car Champ with a flat hood, and put a bulge hood with pins on the "QUAINT" black car... SHADOWFAX II, SHADOWFAX II, SHADOWFAX II #NaNa# #NaNa# (take THAT Tom and put it in a dark, QUAINT, place....Bro!!) [LOL, LOL, LOL]

If Tom & Jerry, as well as Bob, all think this is the way to go, who am I to question them? And it happens with them on this one anyway.

I, myself, voted against cutting up a good bulge hood. Luckily mine came from the factory with them, and am happy for that. As far as anting pins, I'm sure another hood, of lesser condition could be had, and, if not already present, can be modified for use with the pins... But as I said, I'd have a hard time trying to raise myself to cut up a nice bulge hood.
