I can buy that explanation. (That the grille is made in black plastic and some of it was then painted) While there may not be any black paint on the grille, there most certainly are visible areas that are supposed to be black.

No black bits on mine, so I guess it depends on how good they were at doing the spraying.

Hi Tom, Mine looks just like the one in your pics. My rubber headlight bezels had a lot of silver overspray which I removed. Here's one last pic after finishing up with back to black. I'm not sure how long it will last but I like the results. .

I'd say, the argent should be something like dark gray on rallye models maybe ? ( similar to R/T tail light louvers )

I'd say, the argent should be something like dark gray on rallye models maybe ? ( similar to R/T tail light louvers ) That's what I thought too. It would make sense. It certainly appears to be dark argent in the factory literature picture. One of the replies on Moparts also suggests dark argent is correct. But....looking at Google pictures of 72 Rallye cars, almost all appear to have light argent grilles. I unsuccessfully tried looking at my 72 parts CD to see if Rallyes had a different part number on grilles....
