Not that anyone was keeping score, but the crusher contracted to provide cleanup after the sale defeated the preservationists at the Lende Collection Auction held Nov. 2 in Walum, N.D. The sale, presented by VanDerBrink Auctions, offered 122 vehicles, including four vintage tractors. Unfortunately, 66 of those, or 54 percent, received no offer greater than the opening $325 crush bid and were relegated to be squashed.linkLooks like a pair of third gens made it out alive.

Man, reading that list made me cringe.... I mean, all those cars being crushed because they could not even make scrap price. Plus, not knowing who was the actual owners ( since the family that owned them was apparently infighting about ownership) must have made many reluctant to bid. Such a waste though... many could have lived on through parts cars.
Godspeed, JON

Man, I would have hoped that one of those high profile guys from all these car related shows we watch would have snatched up the rest at crusher price. Sent from my PC36100 using proboards

You're right charger440sixpac...I mis-read that.
Hearing that all 4 '59s were crushed was really sad, I thought. So many good parts gone.

Does it not seem sad that all of them that sold from scrap most likely had at least that much in parts alone? If I had been there and was able, I would have bought at least a few and tried to move them along to someone else. Of course, you have transportation costs and storage to worry about.
Oh well, can't save them all..

No, you can't. I've tried! I was surprised some of the bigger yards/vendors didn't snap them up. Too much money to move them I guess.
