I posted here in May of 2012 that the Metro panels were very good. Did it take a picture on FBBO for you to believe it? wichargerguy.proboards.com/thread/14798/grain-pattern?page=2Bob, the Metro panels are the one on right side of first picture. Left side of lower picture. The one with a grain texture very similar to originals.

yeap I remembered that post Tom, but now with pics.
very frustrating... would be nice to get them BUT, won't match the rest of the plastics.
Is not just the grain, like the REAL CORRECTNEsS OF THE SHAPE... screw seats and all
Only hope is someday in the future they making all of them... Dream?... 74 rears will be a dreams for sure, but the rest?

Someone went to a great deal of trouble to make panels not like the originals.

Someone went to a great deal of trouble to make panels not like the originals. Dave, my thoughts exactly. The PALCO front/lower door panels look they were molded from crusty/ dry rotted originals. They seem to lack texture/grain in the same areas that would tend to wear first on originals. (around door handle opening) I know Nacho dreams of Metro reproducing all the panels for our cars. It would be nice, but I'd be willing to wager a significant amount of $$ and say it will never happen. My opinion is that the good seat backs are available to us on accident only because they fit E bodies. My opinion is that the aftermarket for our cars topped out 5+ years ago There was a couple year period where a lot of stuff became available for our cars.... I think it's pretty much done and over.

My opinion is that the good seat backs are available to us on accident only because they fit E bodies. Totally...the same reason we have inner fenders and front floors, too. Thank God for E-body compatibility. But seriously, it's like they developed these from a picture or something. I can forgive poor graining, to a degree. That's tough to get right/consistent. Panel to panel, a lot of these weren't good matches when they were new where grain is concerned. But I mean they didn't get openings right, screw locations, ribbing, panel curvature. It's just crazy. That's what I mean when I say they seem to have gone out of their way to make them wrong. It almost seems deliberate.

Dave you forgot bad material too Very hard molded plastic Avoid if possible The bad thing is that many people will buy the crap parts, based on price alone. "working on a budget" In fact, many will buy crap new parts before considering good condition used parts at a similar price. I am glad that I have stock piled enough nice black interior plastic pieces for all my cars...... and then some.
