OK i hate to be that guy asking these questions. I was a 440 and i want to run a paxton supercharger. I was told by summit racing i need a 8:1 compression motor and they do not sell 8:1 crates. I am new to this classic car game. Where should i turn? what cams/heads should i use on a built 440 that i plan on running boost. also what trans application summit suggested a torque flight that they sell for around 1900 that holds 750hp they say. any help with websites or places to order parts from would be great! thanks!!!!

You could start with a later (73-up) 440 which would probably be somewhere between 7.5:1-8:1 compression in stock form. You could also just build a 440 block and look for dished pistons to lower the compression to be blower friendly. I think 440source.com has a stroker kit that is a standard stroke where you could get the standard dimensions but have a stronger crank/rods/pistons than oem. As for heads, later oem iron heads with port work might be a good bet as they will have the biggest chambers and give you lowest compression. 440 source has good prices and specialize in Mopar big blocks. However some bash them for having parts made offshore, etc.
For a drop-in solution, the 727 can't be beat for an automatic transmission. I think paying $1900 for one in a street car is a bit steep. Even with 750hp, unless you are running slicks or something where it's really going to hook on the track, the super street fighter or equivalent should be plenty. I built my 727 with a B&M strip kit ($200 or so) and it holds up just fine with fat street tires behind my 550hp stroker. One tip I can give you is to spend the $$$ on a good (custom) torque converter. Don't cheap out there.
I'm not an expert in blower setups but you may want to make a similar post in moparts.com as there is a lot of knowledge there with people who can guide you more specifically then I.
Good luck!
