Archie, My Rallye, while dissembled, is still all original in most respects. It still wears what remains of its factory paint, and like your car, does NOT have the truck blackout tape. Hamtramck Historical (H.H.)/'71 Dodge Dealer Data Book lists the contents of A57 (Rallye Package), and the only reference to any blackout treatment is "Hood with Power Bulge and Black Performance Treatment", and the black tape for the louvers on the doors. That's in both the H.H. Data Book, and in any/all of the documentation I have here. HHHHI seem to recall reading that if ordered, these were dealer installed, but I can't seem to go back and find a source for that. So take it as rumor for now. Somewhat removed from 1972, the "Rear Deck Tape" is still listed as an OPTION (V8X) in this 1974 brochure. HHI would not be at all surprised if the way you ordered that in '74, was the same way you ordered it in '72. Man I LOVE that "Red Gradated Body Side Tape Stripe". I may have to own a '73 or '74 before I die, JUST so I can have a car with that stripe on it! I don't mind the gold or parchment ones either.

it's finally in the shop. Sweet! Going to be nice to get rid of those iron oxide bubbles. I didn't want to bring up the "R" word again.
