The opening for the air grabber is not the same as the opening for the inserts, but the louvers can be swapped for the superbee insert; they are the same size. Right, the opening in the outer skin is different. But what about the inner frame?

Without having two side by side, just looking at the photos of the AG hood frames I have, it appears that the frame is the same as the hoods with inserts. Both are power bulge style hoods so the added supports on both should be identical.

Thanks for all the help. It does look like the bulge hoods (at least the ram air and insert hoods) have the same frames. It looks like the flat hood frame can be easily modified to be used for my R/T hood. ?

I picked up an otherwise scrap hood at Carlisle year before last, and drug it back here to Michigan on the assumption that I can make what I need out of it.

I thought the frame was the same for flat, R/T-Bee or Rammed hoods... Unless some year change maybe ?

See my post earlier in this thread from March 18...the Ramcharger hoods used a thinner section in two of the supports. I believe this is to clear room for the rather large Ramcharger cold air mechanism. Now in reality, from a production point of view, I'm quite sure there was one STAMPING. The std. one. Then if the hood was to become one that needed the extra clearance, a side operation to sheer those braces down further would have been employed. And it's exactly that process (done with hand tools of course) that I plan to replicate to make the parts I will need.
