Hi, don't know if anyone is online at moment, but I could do with a hint on how to remove the following "wood" dash trim. I've got a manual but it's miles away and thought someone would know. It's a 73 Charger. Thanks

Been too long since I took mine apart to work from memory. Looks like some plastic studs and steel nuts on the back. ebay

Lack of light has stopped play in UK. I'll have a look in the manual tonight. Thanks anyway.

The wood grain a/c vent panels have mounting posts with metal caps pressed on them. They are held in by phillips screws. Getting to those screws with the fully assembled dash in the car is a pain in the arse. Not saying it can't be done....but still a royal pain. No manual is going to tell you how to do something like this. Taking the glove box lid and liner out will provide "some access" More will be needed The plastic vent distribution tube will be the part getting in your way the most. Start taking stuff apart...and have fun. The ability to stand on your head is helpful.

I have the complete interior stripped out, as well as the "wood" grain clock/bezels. This makes laying under the dash much easier. Hopefully, I'll be able to get the trim of tomorrow. As you say, the manuals are of no use at all. ?

Yes. Thanks Dave, at least I know what fixings I'm trying to find now.

Here is a pic after the pad install before I put the piece on. They attach with 6 Phillips head screws. I can get you a picture of the back of my spare panel if you like.
