FINALLY GOT 'EM !! After literally years of searching for some 15" slotted aluminums for my "cloning it like my 1st one" (see my sig pic of the black and white charger, taken in 72), I finally scored a set of polished 15x7 Western Wheels. I owe ANOTHER huge thanks to our Co-Co Admin, the wondermous Dyno-by Jiminy-Dave, who PM'd me the Craigslist link for a fellow way down in Fullerton, Orange County here in CA. I "made a meet" with him near Magic Mountain, about 70 miles south over the Grapevine, an approximate equidistant point for both of us, except he had to drive through LA traffic all the way, and I didn't. Cost me $400.00, and even the Futura 225-70-15 tires are in good shape, which is fortunate because I was just getting ready to buy a set for my 89 Caprice that I keep my Mother-In-Law happy with. I am only going to use two of the wheels (front) and keep two in reserve, as I bought a couple of 15x10 aluminum slotteds from our esteemed Website Supporter Brock, that I'm going to have polished out for the rears. They didn't come with center caps, and the Eagle Alloy "plug-ins", while looking okay, fit loose, and would require some weatherstrip adhesive type bond to hold them in place. So I guess I'll be researching and looking for center caps now. Another step in the journey of 1000 miles !! FYI, the big one is the bed is the spare for The Diesel Beast, and NOT part of this post... at LT285/75 R17, t'would probably create a rubbing issue in the Charger !!

Boy, those DO look nice. And a good set of tires to boot. You may have been a little worried about the condition having to drive so far, but had to have been relieved when you saw them. Congratulations!

Slots are awesome! They used to be about $100 a set used then they went to $800 for awhile and now they have leveled off again till the next resurgence of people who "find" them. You would not believe how many of these get scrapped by crack heads and scrap guys. I love them. Spent a whole winter back in the day, hand sanding and polishing a set for my girlfriend, now LONG TERM wife's Nova. Bought brand new ET center caps and lug nuts for $40 and they were awesome.Put a set of new Grand Am radial Gts on them for $250 out the door. They do make new slots but they have the name stamped right in the outside rim which stinks.
Jer, I know it's for the mother-in-law but I would check the date on those tires. Don't think they have made them for a while and a big ol' heavy Caprice may make them have a hi speed comeapart. Sounds like a Rodney Dangerfield line. " Boy I don't get no respect. I tell you what. My family is ungrateful. Just the other day I bought my mother-in-law a set of new tires because I'm that kinda guy see. Whats she do? First chance she gets, she goes down the interstate driving like a dame, blows out all 4 and flips her car. Then she has the nerve to blame me, the crazy broad. Says I gave her old tires and I say,"Whadda you want, I should be the best son-in-law in the world and give you GOOD tires and put food in your daughters mouth?". I tell you what she didn't like that crack about "too bad the car didn't land on your head", neither. Thats the kinda respect I get, yes sir. Family who needs them. Only thing they are good for is filling in a family portrait so you don't look like a weirdo standing there by yourself. Boy I tell you"........
Many thanks to the late and great Rodney Dangerfield for appearing in Johns latest attempt to share humour in a humourless world. You were truly one of a kinda, yes indeedy, one of a kind.

If you don't use them on the Mother-In-Laws car, maybe you can give them to Mrs. Kravitz. Jer says..."I'll wait here on the front porch, while Mrs. K takes her car for a "spin" on those "new" tires I bought her."

I've been researching ET center caps (yes, they're still out there in places), because that was the maker of my original slotteds.
Tires are good to go, relatively new, and no crack-age (?).
Wouldn't have it any other way...I have one of those rare and only heard about GREAT relationships with my Mother-In-Law, and I wouldn't dream of not keeping her in a well maintained and safe car.
Nevermind that she only logs 8 to 10 miles per week, at speeds of 35 to 40 mph, tops. She lives in the country, gets her hair done once a week in the neighboring rural town (no stoplights), and grocery shops that same day in the same town...not exactly hard on a vehicle.
I'm holding off on actually buying the caps, because I have to see what configuration Brock's wheels are: Even within the ET family, some had the push-in from the back, some had the push-in from the front, and some had the little bitty screws and "ears" that screwed into/onto the front of the rim.
(I got bored at about 3 in the morning the other day and did a "Mother's" treatment to them...sick, huh?)
