This isn't so much about testing as it is repair, but perhaps some of the principles involved will help? IMPERIAL CLUB

to test for a WORKING gauge ( oil, temp and gas ) a 9 volts batt will do the job. just for couple of seconds to check if needle moves. They work with 5 volts so becarefull no more than couple of seconds enough to check if needle moves.

I test gauges with two 1.5 volt batteries taped together (3 volts) and have done that for years with no issue of damaging the gauges

Value? Do yourself a favor and don't dump them on Ebay all at once. List one at a time so people don't think there are alot of choices available. Complete dash like first one. $800? at auction? 120 speedo dashes are bringing $175-200. Prices change all the time. List when there are no events or large swap meets going on and forget it at least 2 weeks before Carlysle. Nothing sells then for any money. Just some tips freely given. Personally I'm looking for a good speedo needle on a bad or ugly speedo.

IF you did decide to eBay the stuff....keep the following in mind.
Don't bother with auctions. Figure out what you want for items.... List with a buy it now, and calculated shipping. Take good pictures and take the time to write out a reasonably in depth description. Don't sell anything you can't afford to lose. Don't think for a minute you run no risk of losing your part and your money or losing your money, paying return shipping costs to get your item back, and getting a destroyed useless piece of junk back If you are inexperienced at proper packaging and shipping....Frankly, my advice would be to just forget about it.
My definition of proper packaging....package can be dropped from about 20 ft in the air, or thrown at a nearby wall, with item inside not likely to be destroyed.
For example.....the full dash with good pad, would require a built wooden crate to satisfy my expectations of "proper packaging"
Last Rallye dash with tach I bought, just a couple months ago....arrived packaged in a worn out, water damaged, flimsy box. Cushioning material was used egg cartons and a few grocery store plastic bags. Naturally the dash bezel got broke to pieces. The bezel had been already cut for a radio...so I didn't really care. However, I was kind of ticked off that the "experienced seller" had packaged it so poorly.
