I have a generic non molded carpet set that was given to me and I'd like to install it in our 73 charger. Can it be done well or is it a lost cause?

I've never R&R'd a non-moulded carpet. But can only suspect it would be a challenge, as puckers and gaps can occur even in the moulded product! Many older British cars used carpet that was made in panels, with welting sewn around the edge. This way it does not need to be moulded. You might have to resort to making some relief cuts, and adding welting to the free edge.
Please post back and let us know how it goes.

Make sure you have a good steamer.....this will help greatly and yes you will need to make some cuts as Dave said....
