I removed the rear seat from my Charger to get to the build sheet. When looking at the vin on the sheet, it decodes for a 74 Coronet. So I will guess that a rear seat from a 4 door Coronet works on a 74 Charger?

I removed the rear seat from my Charger to get to the build sheet. When looking at the vin on the sheet, it decodes for a 74 Coronet. So I will guess that a rear seat from a 4 door Coronet works on a 74 Charger? Nope, I don't think so. The 74 parts book doesn't show any rear upholstery shared between the 2DHT's and the 4D's. It's not uncommon for a broadcast sheet from one car to end up in a different vehicle on the line at the factory. An often retold story is the sheets were to be disposed of in waste bins once the assembly line workers were done with them but to avoid travel to bins that were sometimes not within convenient reach, workers found other places to "dispose" of them. Because more cars seem to be without sheets than ones with, the story would seem to hold some water. But we may never know for sure. It's always interesting to see broadcast sheets because sometimes a small nugget of heretofore unknown information surfaces. Please post up a scan or photo of the one you found if you can.

The sheet is in poor shape. The vin shows that it is for a Coronet. Same color, similar options that could be read from the sheet.

Chargers and coronets used the same first and second characters of the VIN, what are the third and fourth? if it decodes as a two door, its a charger, four door or wagon, its a coronet.

First character is the Car Line - W = Charger/Coronet Second character is the Series - K = Coronet Police, T = Coronet Taxi, G = Dodge Taxi, L = Coronet/Charger Coupe, H = Charger/Coronet Custom, P = Coronet Crestwood/Charger SE Third & fourth characters are the Body Type - 21 - 2 door sedan, 23 - 2 door hard top, 29 - 2 door sports hard top/fastback 41 - 4 door sedan, 43 - 4 door hard top, 45 - 2 seat wagon, 46 - 3 seat wagon 1974 Chargers/Coronets were assembled in Lynch Road or St. Louis.

I looked at a 73 seabring today and the interior looked very similar to my 73 charger. The center console, front seats, dash all looked like my car but I didn't have them side by side either.
