Ok having issues with my 2 barrel carb. Looks like the float keeps getting stuck. So I'm just going to upgrade to a 4 barrel and buy an intake. I have a 360 in a 1973 Charger. Not looking to spend $1000 but don't want to buy trash. I was looking along the lines of www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/carburetors/classic_holley/parts/0-80457SA can anyone recommend anything as far as a good carb and intake set up please

My personal 2 cents...I don't like the Holley models that have a transfer tube. They are sealed at each end (2 tubes, 4 seals) with little o-rings which, when they fail, spill liquid fuel all over your hot engine. So I'm not a fan. You'll also notice that this design offers "power valve blowout protection". That's necessary because they are famous for failing at the first backfire. How successful they have been at protecting that fragile part, I can't say. If you want to stay a little closer to original, and keep the factory Carter Thermoquad (TQ) design, Holley (through it's Demon Carbs line) is make a TQ-inspired spread bore carb. You can even get it with a phenolic resin center section, just like the old TQ. Holley Street DemonOpinions on carbs are like belly buttons...everybody has one. Holley, Demon, Edelbrock...they will all require some tuning to get "just right", and once done, I'm sure you'd be happy with any of the major brands.

Street Demon, modern thermoquad small primaries big secondary very tunable and uses modern polymer to keep fuel cool. Better than the other holleys in reliability and ease of setting up. About $360.

Just installed the Street Demon 625 on my mostly stock 73 318. Already had the Edlebrock Streetmaster 318 intake. Used the outboard mounting holes. Had to add about a 1 3/4 connecting link between the throttle linkage and the throttle on the carb. Used the stock brackets.
Do yourself a favor and order the demon post for an additional $28 buck, easier than fabbing something.
Car starts right up and runs good. tweaking the timing in an hour or so.

My 870 Holley is the best thing that I have done to my car
It starts It doesn't perk the gas out the vent like an Edelbrock And it sucks lots of gas when the time comes
