Exterior moldings.... Still confused?

So Im researching the moldings on my 74 charger (ralleye) spring special. I read the interchangeable thread....

Moldings and chrome parts; are the same except Wheel opening moldings and of course quarter window moldings doors top moldings... for some time I have thought they where interchangeable and I have known that people has interchanged, but maybe was bending them a little, since whell openings are cut higher ( around 1 1/2 " ).... all these beside that they are different stile... 71/72 are "plain" and 73/74 are with a "line".

Still confused... So far i was told that ALL trim/moldings are stainless except...

1) Wheel openings
2) Rear window
3) Vinyl top check marks (POT METAL)

IS THIS TRUE?

So far I've counted 32 pieces.

4 wheel opening
3 moldings, 1 across the back of hood and 1 per fender
5 Windshield pieces
2 door edge protectors (1 per door)
2 door belt (1 per door)
6 drip rail (3 per door)
6 vinyl top
4 rear glass


Im looking to find out if i can get all the moldings in stainless... Can someone shed some light on this subject?

71s & 72s had stainless rear window moldings and they should fit your 74.

Not sure how you get 3 drip rails per door. The drip rails & moldings are above the doors and there are ONE per side. I think the non-SE cars were stainless for all years 71-4.

I think the 71-2 rear of hood/fender moldings will also fit your 74 and they are stainless, as opposed to "correct" aluminum ones that came on it.

I have a 73 Rally car
Wheel Openings - anodized aluminum
Rear window - can be stainless or aluminum. Good luck finding the stainless
Vinyl top( I have the halo style which is 10 pieces) -stainless or aluminum. Check marks are pot metal
Drip rails should be 1 piece on each side
Rocker panel 1 piece each side is aluminum

If you can, get to Carlisle. You will find all you need. Got most of my trim there. Good luck
