I got a hold of 74 Charger that was in the middle of a restore. It had a brand new tank and fuel sender with a manual pump. The 74 has the hump with a connection on top of the tank and I am not sure how to hook it up. The fuel sender has two connections, one for fuel to the pump and not sure if the other is a return or what. I'm guessing the top port is a vent port. No canister came with it. Also has a 440 in it. Any help on how to set this up would be great. Also the tank is not strapped in and won't fit right in because of the hump, any ideas if someone else found a good way to install it would be great.

welcome
about the top vent tee... the body must have a line around which will link to that tee
about the two tees gas sender.... those were for cars with gas return line, usually found on 440 cars and 3/8 main line. Rest of cars were just one tee sender on 5/16 lines.
If your car got 5/16 line and no return line, just cap off the return line tee of the sender

Thanks for the info. There are two lines coming from tank area to motor area. The 3/8 is the fuel line and the 5/16 is the return line I'm pretty sure. My manual pump doesn't have a third port so I'm guessing I have to get a new one that does for the return correct? As for the vent line, can I just add a foot of hose and use a rollover valve? Or a venting gas cap and just cap the vent port? It will be kind of tuff getting the vent line above the filler neck. Thanks for any help.

I think the return line comes from fuel filter, specifically with the extra tee for it
About the tee on top of tank, dunno. My 74 just came with a tube with a built in check valve, but my car was assemblied in Venezuela without anykind of emission controls. I think in USA this vent line is hooked to the vapor canister.

Just to give an update in case anyone else runs into this. I installed all new hard lines from inline tubes, one 3/8 for the main fuel line and one 1/4 for the return. I installed a fuel filter with a third port for the return. The 3/8 runs to the pump and then to the filter, and then the carb. The 1/4 runs straight to the return port on the filter. I used Steel braid hose for the parts in between. Seems to work great.
