Change the NSS just due the seal? Mmm
can't tell if the seal is being sold by itself.
I'd change the NSS just if leak comes from the backelite body with metal, but not from the seal with tranny.
You pretty summed up nice. If posible to jack up the car from driver side rear wheel higher as posible, will save a lot of oill coming out from the NSS hole.
Does somebody know if seal is available alone?
If not, maybe apply some sealer to the threads? Or restore the seal ring?
Standard PN is NS11

For $13 that's OK, I'll replace the switch too.

A bit cheaper at Rockauto from other manufacturers, but, well, dunno the shipping charges. I guess you have a Napa around? RockautoRockauto uses to be the cheaper seller when shipping comes. Plus the discount code there is allways around ( uses to be 5% )

Done. Switch is cracked. However Kunkel over at DC.com says there is no O ring. I was sure I saw the NOS ones on eBay with an O ring. Well, it has one now, and one that came out too.

No O-ring ( I never told about an O-Ring ) , but a rubberized seal cup/washer between switch seat and tranny housing

Well the old one came out with an O ring and new one came with an O ring so that is what went back in.

I've determined my NSS is faulty. I have a new switch and rubber seal. I have a 1971 Dodge Charger base model. With 727 tranny. I have disconnected the NSS switch connector. Now my problem. There is no room to get a ratchet, socket or wrench on the 1" hex portion of the NSS. There is only 3/8" between the floor pan and three prongs of the NSS. What gives? I have tried crow claws with no success. Does the tranny need to be dropped? Or do I need to bring it in to a tranny shop? Or is there a special tool one has to use? Thanks!!!!!
