I've been trying to find a photo of a 1971-72 Charger with a full blacked out hideaway headlight set up to no avail. Anyone have a photo out there? I'm a much bigger fan of the hideaway lights on the 68-69 than the third generation cars, but I think it is because that generation had less horizontal lines and was just straight up black. There is a set up local to me that I'm considering buying, but the existing setup with the fixed 1971 grilles are still speaking to me more. Thanks!

check the McCafe TV advertising... there is a Blue 72 with blacked out hideaways setup
Personally don't like a fully blacked out assembly but don't like fully chromed either. I like 71s because the are less vertical fins what looks way better than 72s.

Thanks! That looks just about as awesome as I though it would.

It does look good blacked out. IMHO

I just love the look of the fixed grille the car currently has, but the hideaway headlight option all blacked out is a very close second. I adore that setup on the 1968-69 Chargers, but for some reason it just does not do it for me as much on the 71-72. Like I said, close second but not taking preference over the current setup. Plus, I don't have stupid money to upgrade right now. There is a somewhat local set that includes the entire setup with a bumper, but less the motor and relay for like $850. Very tempting, but not in the budget at the moment

I went with a dark grey "sparkle" finish.

Wouldn't mind seeing if anyone has blacked out 73-74 grill without hideaway lights. I have a B5 Blue and am considering blacking out the grill. Any certain type black paint recommendations would be appreciated to. Thanks
