I installed a new decal on my speedometer and couldn't get the needle back on. I tried pushing really hard and tried a twisting motion, but it wouldn't go in at all. It's like the shaft on the speedo is too large. Well, I pressed too hard and broke half of the black circle off the needle. Does anyone know where to buy one? Or is the speedometer itself the problem? I remember the needle was a pain to remove. I might be better off finding a used 120 mph speedometer and using the face I just painted and put the new decal on. Anyone have one? It's a Rallye 120 mph speedometer for a 3rd gen.

After 3 speedos in hand and get two of them broken same half circle ( yes, i broken that too but it was removing them ), I fixed them with krazy glue one of them and epoxy the other one. Epoxy needs to be a light coat because ads weight and can get a wrong reading on speedometer. I used epoxy on one of them because got a missed tiny piece. After glue and dry, I sanded it.
The problem you could got it was probably because splines didn't match with the previous needle indexing. When they were new that was not a problem because plastic was fresh and flexible, but once is cut by the splines, must be installed on same position after all these years.

I fixed the circle with krazy glue. I bought a hand mini drill and cleaned out the hole in the needle with a drill bit smaller than a pin. I didn't know you could get them that small. The needle now goes on and is a snug fit. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe something got in the hole.

nah!!! is just the splines indexing didn't matched with the ones cut inside the needle somehow! I was allmost to make the same untill I find the "key" to fit it. A tiny reindexing allmost unnapreciable is enough to get success or not
