Is amazing how this can come a deep mistery and hard to find the info
does somebody know what is the correct firewall dimples use on our cars ? It seems 74 FSM is the only manual with this info available ?
There is a mistery on FBBO board about the tach wire on 72/73 ( 71 and 74 use the bulkhead ) and I think also dash reverse light ( 4 speeds ).

Nacho, I took a lot of underhood photos of this '72 at Carlisle in 2012. I'm no expert...would this be the tach wire going in to the outboard side of the brake booster?

nah, that's an "owner solution" for whatever he wanted... that grommet is originally for heater water valve wire and Vacuum lines.

I am still looking if anyone has info, also trying to figure out why vacuum comes into the dash in two places, 1 under the hvac box and 1 next to the brake booster. getting close the installing dash.

Here is a unused dimple just above to acc petal. might be a good spot for the tach grommet.

Mine comes out about where that grommet is on the picture shown. I attached a pic of where it goes out in the car but I can't find a pic of mine outside. There is a special grommet with 2 holes in it t the left (Driver) of the Master Cyl.
