I was comparing a pic of the repo trunk floors with some pics of original trunk floors to see how close they matched. I never noticed before but the outside lines on each side are connected on the 72/73 floors (at the back) and they aren't on the 71s. I know its not going to change how they fit, but... The repo looks like a 72/73 and here is a 71

That's fascinating. Why would Ma change a detail like that, unless there was an oil canning problem (or some other) with the '71 design? That cost money to chnage the die that stamped that panel. It must have been done for a reson.

I looked at my 73 again and I don't know how I missed it when I looked but the repro looks like it.

Why would Ma change a detail like that, unless there was an oil canning problem (or some other) with the '71 design? Ya maybe the spare tire distorted that area of the floor.
