Yeah, they can amass some talent that way, but I'm not sure that works out well for them in the long run.

Looks like former Steeler Martvis Bryant is getting suspended again. Where are you hearing that from?

Wow, that's sad. Such a waste of talent. We've seen it here too.

Wow, that's sad. Such a waste of talent. We've seen it here too. Personally, I do not understand why the league feels a need to test for cannabis.
Players are entertainers....not fighter pilots. * *
I do understand that the league and it's owners have to "protect the shield" (protect their financial interests) So, I do totally support reasonable suspensions for those who run afoul of the law.

The last time a team sent two first-round picks away in a swap for a veteran was in 2009, when Chicago sent two first-round picks, a third-rounder and Kyle Orton to the Broncos for Jay Cutler and a fifth-round pick.

That's interesting.
I would have swapped them Orton for Cutler straight up.

I was surprised that most of the media that I have seen or heard has been critical of the Raiders.
They made Khalil a contract offer in the spring. His counteroffer was so high that the Raiders knew they would likely not be resigning him.
So, they did the best they could to salvage the situation.
The Bears can more easily afford Mack as their QB is on a rookie contract, making around 7 million a year or so.
The Raiders have a 25 million a year QB they have to pay.

Yeah, everything I've read implies the Raiders are fools, and the Bears are geniuses who "stole" Mack.

At least today I saw a few media people mention that teams cannot afford to pay two 25 million dollar players. The salary cap in 2018 is 177 million. Spending 50 million on two players would not be very wise. You would effectively be eliminating most of the "middle class" on your team
