I have a 71 charger 318 car. I believe i've read around the forum previously that I would be able to put a starter out of a 92-95 Dakota with a 5.2l without any fitment issues. Do I have that right?

Yes, I believe so. I searched 1992-94 Dodge Dakota on a auto retailer sight. Took note of the part numbers. Than searched for a 1971 Charger with 318 and 383 (my car), multiple part numbers come up but there is one common number that come up on every search. This tells me that its the same for all cars. Thats what I due to check for mine. I posted a thread when I was looking for a mini starter. I had to simply take off the extended terminal part for better clearance . You may non have to for your engine. Picture
