I recently saw a 71 on ebay that was really nicely equipped... including tilt wheel... which is something I haven't seen often.
What I'm confused about though- couldn't they have come up with a more attractive steering wheel for a sporty 2-door instead that that funky looking wheel that should have been reserved for only full-size boats? That tilt wheel is horrible looking! What were they thinking?!?

...it's a little out of character for the car.

And if I recall correctly, they borrowed a GM steering column too. The whole thing..... looks hideous. I happen to have one (or one similar) sitting in my back yard now, waiting for someone to claim it. I evicted it from my parts barn a few days ago.

The one in the upper right? I've seen worse, like lower left. Aftermarket especially. To each his own I say. I think dog-dish hub caps are awful ... but people love 'em. ?

Agreed Bob. It's not at all unlike the 2 spoke in my Cordoba, or a '75-'78 Charger SE. But I think 3rd gen to 4th, people expect the sportier 3 spoke in a 3rd gen.
Funny...even up through (I believe) '79, they continued to offer a non-tilt column with a 3 spoke wheel, and the tilt column received a 2 spoke.

YEAH, my Duster had that wheel in the lower left. Not much thought went into that one! But that upper right wheel... it just looks so out of place for a Charger... regardless of whether it was a plain or fancy Charger.
I did not realize they borrowed the tilt column from GM... that's pretty crazy.

I'd say Saginaw column design, used by GM and Chrysler.
Isn't?

I guess I'd have to go with codes S84, the Tuff Steering Wheel. Kinda like those....
