I replaced the brake lines on my 74 and also ordered new clips. They claimed to be reproductions of the originals but weren't even close. I made it all work between using some new and some old clips, but am stumped by the one in the attached photo. The plated one is the new and the black one is the old one. Exact reproduction! LOL. I know it is supposed to go in the slot on the rocker panel but it just floats in it. The new one is even more narrow. I must be missing something. Is there a fitting that goes in the slot to grab the clip, or???

I totally agree. I'm going to use the original. The problem is the clip is smaller than the slot it is supposed to fit in. I must be missing something. Any ideas?

The one on the right is what my 72 uses.

I'm glad it's proper for one or two years. The suppliers often label parts for a 74 incorrectly. How did yours install? Did it fit in the slot on the rocker panel or was there some type of fastener in there first?

I'm glad it's proper for one or two years. The suppliers often label parts for a 74 incorrectly. Tipical. It happens with rear lower door panels, firewall body gaskets... both are on 74 a one year only. And some stuff more. Althought actually rear lower panels are one year only on every year, but 71/73 can at least be interchanged The worst of all it was Edelbrock selling the IAS Shocks they had in market some years ago for all 68-74 Chargers, Where the fronts are not the same for 73/74 ( and laters of course ) I can't imagine how many returns they could get on those years they were available

Have you done it yet? I'm curious if there is something in the slot first or if the clip in my photo just fits in the slot? Slot is too long for either of my clips.
