I'm wet sanding my Charger in preparation for painting. The hood has the black painted on rather than a decal. Was this common on the 74 Charger or was it something someone did later? When I sand the black hood paint, there's B5 blue under the black, then black or dark grey primer then light grey primer. Anyone have suggestions.? See photos ( if I can attach them). The red primer I painted on to protect the bare steel that was exposed. Thanks. Terry

Yes, I believe they all received a decal in 73 and 74.

just replied you at FBBO, since it seems your car got an incorrect blackout... 72 kind
decals are just on 71 due they sit over the top of the buldge.
72/74 got all the buldge including curved area, so the vinyl won't fit correctly, hence the reason to be painted
