I'm going to pick up shocks all around. Any suggestions? Anyone find a happy medium between ride quality and handling? The current shocks are from when I bought the car.

Being 72 you have several good options. If you want a stiffer ride, KYB Gas-A-Just. They are mono tube. They have also the GR-2 series which is more like a stock replacement being Twin tube. Both series are affordable on $100 rate for the 4 corners.
Has been told the best ones are RCD shocks which are built with Bilsteins inners, mono tube, not so stiffer like Gas-A-Just but they are on $450 rate for all 4 corners
Then some ppl likes Monroematics, etc...
The deal with this is we are talking about personal appreciations. 10 years ago EVERYBODY adviced Gas-A-Just, but it seems now they are too stiff. Maybe those advicing them 10 years ago are too old now to like a stiffer ride, LOL. I'd like Gas-A-Just because I WANT a stiffer ride but they are not available for 73 and lates in front, just rears because they are the same than earliers.
Also we need to think shocks are just a part of the system and they work side to side with T bars, so that could change the personal appreciation with same shocks on similar cars but diff T bars.

When I rebuilt my front end in 2012 I went with the Monroematics, a basic replacement shock. When I got around to replacing the air shocks in the rear I put on Gabriel's. Much better ride with that change although after getting used to it it's not so noticeable anymore. As Nacho said in my case I'm old and broke down and the stiff rides are rough on me.

with stock isolation suspension on my 74 I wouldn't care get a stiffer shock setup. The regular road vibrations are already isolated by the stock system added on 73

Ahh great point the stock isolation on 73 and up already provides some softness so a stiffer shock may make sense. For my 71, I may just stay away from a stiffer shock. My front sway bar bushings and end links are bad and new ones are on the way form Rockauto. I'll see how it all feels then decide on a shock. I really have to get under the car to see what's on there now (shocks). I believe they are red in color but are painted black.

the isolation just makes comfortable the small road vibrations but the bumps feel practically the same. I think on stiffer shocks preventing the nose down effect when hard braking or get too much down the car when going over a bump.

I have Monroe Matic (gas) shocks on both my 67 and 73. Got the 73s last year from Rock Auto, quite reasonable. Very pleased with the ride.
