Would someone have input on a good aftermarket exhaust system for ‘74 Charger that is not too much of a hassle to install so I can use factory hangers and slotted 2.25” tips. Reviews on the big names like Flowmaster or Magnaflow seem to be not great. Accurate makes a beautiful system but no stainless steel option from them.

I've been looking at Accurate as well, some have mentioned Pypes as a nice system. Might even go with TTI myself, I also have the slotted tips for my 72.

I would definitely go with Accurate but with a car that sits more than it’s driven I want something in stainless that’s not going to rust away. Too bad they wouldn’t offer that option. Yes, they make their business based on original equipment reproduction but it will make buyers look elsewhere. I heard Pypes make a good system for B bodies. I’m going to look into their product line.

I put PYPES full header back 2.5" system (complete with X pipe) on my 74 SE and really like them!! Might be a little throaty for some owners but exactly what I was looking to achieve. I have stainless steel turn down tips on mine.. Install went very easy and so far I'm very pleased!!

A full stainless system would not be cheap. I wonder if a person could have a steel exhaust ceramic coated for roughly the same money?

Actually the Pypes system is one of the cheapest out there and is all stainless construction. Just wonder if there’s a catch. Seems to good to be true. $800 complete with a set of factory reproduction slotted tips. Very tempted to put the order in but would like find out a bit more user info.

The Borla catback for my Trans Am is an $1100.00 + system. SO $800 is a good deal. But of the Borla price is the Borla name and reputation.
Is the Pypes system and materials made here? I know a lot of guys on another forum that are buying inexpensive Chinese headers in stainless and having pretty good luck with them.

Pypes are based out of Pennsylvania. I also bought a Borla system for my 2010 Chsllenger. Simple instal and sounded great. Very expensive though. $1500 for cat back complete. I think I’m going to give Pypes a try. Price is right.

Pypes did include universal hangers but I used the originals. Toward the rear where the resonator was I did have to improvise just a tiny bit but looks OEM.. Remember, I went from 2.25 to 2.5 inch so it was a little tight on some hangers but they did work and look much better than aftermarket.
