Year One has it's 30% off code right now and I am interested in their Dash Harness, I'm tempted to buy one as my harness like most peoples is 48/49 years old. My original harness "looks good" haven't unwrapped anything to really check how it actually is. Don't think it has ever been tampered with but I do have that red wire that has burnt out a couple of times. My bulkhead looks like it has seen better days. So... just wondering if anyone has purchased and installed one and how did the installation go? Any comments are welcome on the subject and I have read quite a few threads. Thanks All.

I purchased mine from Year One and it was exactly the same as original. M&H is what Year one sells. It was no hassle to install. Not sure about the red wire you have pictured. Someone else on this board may know. My bulkhead also was in need of replacement. Got both the Dash Harness and Engins Harness from them.

Most of the times a new underdash harness is not needed, unless it has been all hacked up by a previous owner or it got a heavy melt down by a short somewhere. But if tape looks untoched, mostly sure any fix is visible and easy to reach.
An underdash harness uses to be on $500 rate. Replace the terminal for that wire is less than a dollar ( Molex standard .092" ). Sometimes you could need just splice up a new sectioon of that red wire to be longer if it was fixed in the past.
If bulkhead conector on firewall is good same as fuse box, I would make just a clean up mantenience and replace terminals needed ( maybe $10 in total ? ). They are all available. The only deal is the ignition switch plug which if damaged is not available alone.
the "heaviest" mantenience job on the underdash harness is replace the 24 terminals and bulkhead itself. The cost of that could be on $80-100 rate. Most of the time just need to replace just 6-10 terminals as much and rest just a GOOD clean up ( and I really meant GOOD clean up )
Engine harness and NSS are the only one I use to associate for a full replacement or build up due the heat and oil! I made my own engine harness one for example, getting new plug and terminals. Got the new wires and made it one by one. The NSS was completelly replaced ( it was more cost effective the full harness than the separated pieces )
Forward lighting harness.... it uses to be hacked up for headlight relays around battery area. That's easy to rebuilt too. Sometimes the red wire for starter relay is melted. Is just a piece of wire and maybe new plug. Thats $15-20 rate.
But hell, that's being cheapy because I can't afford a full harness system for my car. If the replacement is a preference, then go for it. But where original pieces are easy to be kept in place, I preffer that.

Very good advice as usual Nacho, thank you. I think I will go through the harness and check it out. Will also find a proper solution for that red wire.
Yeah the money is adding up, still have to buy a complete exhaust and parts here and there.
