On my 74 Rallye, I removed the old seals from the roof channel rails. The part of the weatherstrip that installs at the front to seal against the door has four plastic pins. When reoving the old ones, there was a lot of weatherstrip adhesive in this area. There was also weatherstrip adhesive along the last 6 inches of the rails to hold the old weatherstrip above the rear quarter windows. The istructions state to put adhesive/sealant along the weatherstrip where the four pins are located at the front but it's not clear if I should use the adhesive along the last six inches of weatherstrip. What do others use? Sould spots of adhesive be used along the entire weatherstrip inside the channel rail? Thanks Terry W.

That's a tough one tfdub. I hate it when the "new" instructions vary from what the factory did. While I stripped mine many years ago, I have not yet installed new ones. Personally, I would follow the new instructions, and add sealer where the factory had it. Guaranteed for chasing water or wind leaks, the factory added that sealer in the places they did. If it wasn't needed and they could save the workers time of applying it, and the cost of buying it, they would have. That's my thinking anyway.
