I allways have wished somehow a stiffer suspension keeping the comfort. In front I already have 1.06" T bars, but when my friends used to travel with me and sat on rear bench the tail of my car falls down a lot. My rear springs are as far I recall 5 leafs installed new around 2002-2003. My initial idea was add one leaf on each side but dunno if maybe this could be better easier and even cheaper? This is a tough one Nacho. Coil-over helpers like that, and air shocks, both load the upper mount of the shock in a way that it wasn't designed for. If it's a single shear mount, like my brothers '75 Dart Hang 10 was, it will rip the floor / axle tunnel where the stud is for the upper mount. Not pretty. He had to have some heavy repairs made to that car when they failed. Single shear. If your car is like my '77 Cordoba, then it's double sheer, which is much stronger. Still not designed to carry the weight of the vehicle in any way, but much stronger. Double shear. So really, neither coil-over helpers nor air shocks are the "right" answer. Of the two, I'd do air shocks, because you can adjust them for varying loads. Adding a leaf or two is the "right" answer from an engineering point of view. Only problem is it's adding rate all the time, making for a stiff ride when it's just you. My motorhome has these. Great answer on a motorhome riding on a medium duty chassis, but for a classic car, they would stand out like a soar thumb visually, if that worries you. Perhaps you can get Melony to come help you install them! No good answer that looks stock, doesn't stress components in a way they weren't designed for, and doesn't ruin the ride under a light load. Everything is a compromise. I have the same problem in the T/A. With people in the rear seats, it bottoms out on heavy bumps.

Nacho, I had my springs re-arched and added 3 leafs. I did it because it was too low , gained height but also gained ride. No complaints. I can email pics if you like.

no pics needed since I know how is that kind of job. Not unusual in Vzla trying to enlarge the life of the parts on car to save money. Thanks anyway Bob. The rear springs are ( or it was, when I drove it last time ) still good. My trunk was LOADED with all the parts on trunk and even rear bench and I could notice how low was my car. True I had 1" block spacer which I will remove, but not concerned about the final height but the diff between unloaded and loaded. Hence Why I thought on add one leaf just like HiPo cars got. HOWEVER being I'm not in Vzla to supervise the job on my car and when times comes to travel for reassemble it I don't want to wait for some shop job, I thought the coilovers shocks could be a good idea being installed just out of the box, no more shops involved which I'm tired of.
Dave I understand your concerns about the load applied over the original mounts, but I'm not thinking on a trailer tow or anything similar, just try to keep the ride height with regular loads, such as passengers or baggages on trunk.
Headlights over the road are affected due this.
Air shocks? sometime I though on that but I don't want to deal or even think about that. Just install and forgett about it.

I added 2 leafs on each side and air shocks. Noticed a very nice difference in the ride afterwards and added a little more height also.

I took the air shocks off my car and got a less harsher ride. My back can't take it anymore. The daily driving in my Ram 2500 4x4 is bad enough don't want it in my fun car.

I have an extra spring on each side of mine after I removed the air shocks back in the day. Haven't driven my car in 20+ so not sure how it will feel to me now.

I voted for adding a leaf, which I did. 2 leafs actually.
