Uncle Tony talks about an $8 fix for vapor lock. Anyone here currently using this? Results?

Don't think a link came through bri. I have the usual crossover block off valley pan and have wrapped my fuel line with DEI insulation. Seems to work most of the time though I had a bit of cranking coming out of a show after a hot day yesterday.

An inexpensive electric pump near the tank will help keep light pressure (4-5 pounds, so as not to overcome the needle and seat in the carb) on the fuel line, thus increasing the fuels boiling point. Also, fuel with ethanol blended in is more prone to this condition. Run pure gas if you can find it near you. PURE GAS LINK

Unfortunately for me I'd burn a few gallons just to get to the station with rec fuel and back. I always use it for winter storage though. One of these days I'm gonna fill it up with mid grade to see if I notice any difference.

Ah, the separator. It can't hurt to try one. That is what the factory did, and it does help. The problem with those, in my opinion, is that they don't address the very issue that he describes. Hot fuel drawn to the fuel pump under vacuum, boils from the heat of the engine mounted pump, and vaporizes. The issue is that the pump can't pump a vapor, only a solid. So while the vapor may rise up the line and be separated at the filter, what about the vapor-locked pump? This is where the small electric booster pump comes in. Just as pressurizing your cooling system with a 12-16 pounds pressure relief cap raises the boiling point of the coolant, a few pounds of pressure helps keep the fuel in the lines from boiling on the way to the mechanical pump, and helps force liquid fuel into and through it. Depends on where your issue is I guess. Here are some quality Holley pumps designed for this... HOLLEY LINK...cheaper versions... AMAZON LINKIf your car came with a Carter Thermoquad, and now has an all aluminum Holley, Edelbrock or other carb, that is not helping this particular issue. A carb spacer with some insulative properties might help. JEGSMy sister-in-law used to have an '80s Nissan that used a fan (a small electric fan, like you might find on the dashboard of a large truck) to blow ambient air on the carb to try and reduce vapor lock. Crazy stuff, but manufacturers tried all kinds of things to prevent this issue.

I have a 3/8 inch carb spacer and high heat insulation on the fuel lines . Still have to crank it to get the fuel back up to the carb. Not really a major issue but it's nice to turn the key and - brummmm!
