Hey guys, I'm currently in the process of restoring my dads 74 se. It's an automatic on the column and I'm struggling to remove the assembly. Originally I was just going to do an ignition switch but found that to be a pain in the butt with it left in. Do you guys have any advice on getting the column out with damaging it? I would appreciate it. Thank you

Just need to disconect ignition and turning switch harness ( courtesy ign light wire too if optioned ), loose it from the transmission linkage, remove the coupler from stering box, remove 3 bolts at firewall plate, 2 more nuts down the dash ( column bracket ) and pull it out.
that's basically the proceedment.
you could also keep the steering box coupler in place and get the column out at the rubber isolator coupler/joint.
