Can anyone tell me what kind of job it is to remove the regulator? One of the slides just broke. Does the window, regulator and track come out as one unit? I've got the Factory Service Manual and there is pretty much nothing in the glass area about this. I should probably look in the body sections. I see a kit online for all the parts for both doors. Could this possibly be a one day job?

Your best bet is to remove the top door molding and the felt pieces so you can pull the whole assembly out as one. Its very hard to try to get just the regulator out and replace the slide. Had to do that on my 73.

Had mine apart many times, remove the door panel, upper and lower. Remover the two screws that hold the window glass to the track. Slide the window out. Then remove the regulator. Pulling the complete assembly out adds too much risk to breaking or scratching the glass and because the window comes out easy with two screws, there is no upside to fighting with the whole assembly. (In my opinion)

Yeah I figured the window felt would come off (just installed it). I saw one screw for the window to track through a hole in the inner shell at the rear of the door but didn't see one at the front. There are holes further down in the front. Would one of them give access to the front screw? I didn't make too much effort to look as time was short. I was really hoping I could separate the glass first as my grip in my hands is compromised. Got a rebuild kit coming and should be here Friday.
Anything special needed to replace parts? The sliders look to have the ball stud in them. Do you just peen the end to hold them in place?

Once I had to replace my passenger side regulator because teeths were gone. 71/72 is the one I found which fits exactly the same than 73/74 with just the diff 71/72 use a square slider into the channels and 73/74 use a roller. I removed the rollers from mine and installed on the 71/72 regulator I got, BUT I removed and installed with the ball stud, didn't take off the slider or the roller from the ball stud.

Yes that's what I intend to do as the pics show it comes slides with ball stud installed. How was the stud attached to the arm? Pressed in and peen the edges to hold it? Just trying to get a heads up on this cause I need to get it do as quick as possible. Anyone wanna help??? Hahaha!

There are access holes that line up with the window screws when you get the window at just the right height. Phillips screws. I ground off the peened end and spot welded the new ones in place.

Sounds easy enough. I will have to wait though as unforseen circumstances will have me working on something else.
