Good point Bob. I'd coat those pare ends after grinding. Necessary or not, it can't hurt.

Can't go with ya on that Nacho. First they way the chrome any piece is they dip the entire piece, so it is all chromed. They only polish what is visible or easy to get to. Second I have seen MANY pot metal pieces rust and break. I have a piece of rear trim from a 67 trunk lid that was so bad it broke in two places. Pit/rust...call it what you want it breaks easily. Again, just sayin'

mmmm dunno... if look underneath those pieces they don't look chromed. Chrome job doesn't require a polish treatment. They came out already shine and mirror finish just right out of the bath. maybe just light cleaning or wax service, but not a polish job per se.
The chrome job requires a surface preparing to get the chrome sticked into the metal ( pot or steel, doesn't matter, you can check on back of bumpers ), and these inner areas are never propperly treated for that. You can note that diff on racing mirrors cups, for example, where the inner areas gets the chrome sticked just right where is necesary due the mirror glass gaps.
sure I have seen pot metal being destroyed by the pits. They pit just like the aluminium... with a whiteish and green spots

Every piece of chrome with studs I have has chrome. Can't post pictures or I would. Since it is a free country (here) you can believe what ever you like. :-)
