The Apex jacks are crap! The Husky's I would not recommend either. Same with the Arcans, not good. Performance stands wobble too much to be considered safe. The TCE stands also wobble too much. The Daytona stands are also dicy. Looks better built but deceiving as the test showed.
I do think if the jack stands were farther apart than shown in the video the numbers would be better. Personally I have the AFF Heavy Duty Pin brand made in the USA. Yes they are expensive($180) but I feel safe under the car since they have a 5 ton capacity. Plus I always have my rolling jack placed under the car too.

I liked that USA made jack with the really wide spread on it. Very stable.
I already have a 25+ year old set of "harbor freight" (can't recall exactly where I bought them) stands I bought in the very late '80s to get the Charger up in the air so I could work under it. Very heavy angle iron design (a design very common in its day, that the industry seems to have moved on from as not one of the sets in this contest has that exact design), so I'm not sure I'll be replacing them. But if I did....

I've been keeping an eye on the seams of my stands, which came from Wal-Mart and O'Reilly's. So far so good, but they're the lightest ones. I've got a couple old tires and other stuff under the car to catch it, just in case. I'm pretty much done under the car anyway.

Been using my pair of 3 ton and 6 ton Craftsman jack stands since the 90's. The 6 tons were bought for the 4x4 trucks but I find myself using them on the cars as they will get it high enough to keep you from being hunched over on brake work and lots of clearance underneath.
