Thanks for the replies There are a lot of gremlins to chase out, but I'm well on my way.... It's just a cruiser now so the 8.25 might be ok but time will tell.... There was this bolt and nut in the linkage (see picture) which I removed. The transmission immediately acted better. It was harsh shifting between 1 & 2, now still a bit harsh but much better. drive.google.com/file/d/1y5In--lHB7W_zX1iJxYWnEsd8oPkYSL4/view?usp=share_linkPlans are for a disc conversion in the rear, leaf springs, shocks, & service transmission with a new accumulator, so, I'll be busy for a while, which is good..... Looks like someone was trying to make it kick down sooner. If it still seems to have a harsh 1-2 shift it might have a shift kit in it.
