I found a couple of post '74 B- bodies in a local bone yard. How similar are these bucket seats to those in a 3rd gen Charger. They look very similar. Are the seat buns and frames the same? How about the seat tracks? Some of them were power seats. Will these fit in an earlier car? Even the buddy seats look the same. I know this topic has been touched, but only in component pieces.
Oh, almost forgot, how about the mirrors? Thanks

as far I know buckets are the same just with extra padded covers.
I think tracks too.
Mirrors: they are not the same but similar. laters are thicker pedestals with studs, bolted from interior of doors with a reinforcement plates and nuts. Passenger side is with a large remote control wire system that fits below ashtray

The seat tracks on my post 74 buckets are different from the 3rd gen. They don't have a flat adjustment track like 3rd gens - although, cept for the curvature (whichs brings the seat lower at it slides further back), they appear to be the same upper section. My lower sections are totally different. Adaptable? Not without alot of fabrication.
Seat tracks will interchange though = that part of the seat frame is spaced identically. Seatbacks look like they'll interchange judging from a side by side comparison. I'm not yet sure about the seat foam. Extra padding would be in the covers like Nacho said.
Hope this helps

I have owned a couple sets out of Dobas and Magnums.
The tracks are definitely different. If you put 4th Gen seats in a 3rd Gen, you would want to use 3rd Gen tracks. The 3rd gen tracks will bolt right up to the 4th Gen bottom seat frame. The inner and outer tracks on a 3rd gen are not of equal height. ( I think the inner is taller) Both of the tracks on a 4th Gen are of equal height. The spacing of the floor studs is not the same either, when comparing 3G and 4G tracks.
I am not 100% sure .....but I think that the extra "plushness" of the 4th gen seats is more than just the covers. I am pretty sure that the seat buns themselves are bit more plush. I don`t see any reason you could not use the frames and install brand new repro 3rd gen seat buns on them. PG Classic makes the buns.
The seat backs are the same....except that some of the 4th Gens have pockets sewn on the bottoms.
