Hello Are there any good interior dyes out there? I want to change my 74 charger se tan interior and vinyl top black.

You can buy cans of vinyl paint/dye at most auto parts stores. I think I've used Plastikote. A paint shop should be able to mix it also if you're going to shoot it through a gun.

Most automotive paint supply stores carry SEM it is an interior specific application. They sell both for vinyl and hard plastic. I strongly recommend these, but be sure to use their prep and cleaner in the process.

black parts are easy to come by... would try to get them first... nothing like the correct color part from origin

SEM is the best "dye" system I've ever tried....and I use it exclusively now. As for original black parts being easy to come by, ask Tom about that one.

eastwood has sem dye just got mine in last week local paint shops and box part houses will not order.

I have been using Dupli-color out of a rattle can. My biggest issue with all the over the counter vinyl dyes that I have found and used is that they are available in gloss black and flat black only. The glass black is too glossy and the flat black looks incorrect to. Either way makes for a crappy looking interior. I have yet to find one classified as low gloss or semi flat. Personally, I`d be kind of leery about how well any vinyl dye would hold up on a vinyl top, exposed to rain, snow, sun, etc etc...
