Ok, you know I am doing my engine compartment over. My dilemma, should I install all the A/C lines and brackets. It looks so clean without them. The A/C work when I charged it a couple years ago but leaked out about an hour later. I could plug the firewall lines. The A/C pump, I would to remove it and keep everything together. How much trouble would it be to remove the A/C pump and install another set of belts? I probably would need another set of brackets for the belts? Your thoughts! Bob

Bob, my opinion , and I have done this several ways...
You will save a lot of headaches and trying to rig things by doing it just like it was a non-A/C car. I would change my Crank & Waterpump pulley and Alternator Bracket to Non-A/C. I would just save all my pulleys and Idler pulley in case you sell it down the road. I just think it would look so much better and in reality it would take away from the firewall connectors being noticed. Take that A/C compressor and fill it with A/C oil and cap it to assure it staying good and store it inside somewhere.

MM, thanks. It does look so much cleaner without all that A/C stuff. I guess I'll check with Tom to see if he has the non A/C parts. Thanks

I totally agree with Nacho. My car will eventually have the air conditioning re-installed. Who says you can't have 500hp and air too.

I really like the clean look you got, Matt. Nice job filling that hole! I could get by myself without AC, but if I want the little woman to go along on cruises, shows, etc., the AC must work.

I lived in the South for close to 15 years before I owned a vehicle with AC that worked . Of course that was before I went to Tech school for Auto mechanics and starting doing that for a living. The worst was the daily driver 73 I had that always oozed hot air out the vents. That was downright miserable in the summer. After a year or two of that, I did figure out how the heater control valve worked.
