Im in the prosess of refrebishing my tailamps..Im noticing that the lamp surounds are painted a silver/gray color...now that doesnt seem like there isnt alot of reflectability from the bulbs out through the red lens...I was thinking about painting or at least putting some type of reflective tape behind the bulbs to brighten up the lamps...has anyone done somthing simular or have any other ideas???

I too have thought of this - but I read somewhere that it's a bad move.
Anybody ever try this?

Me too Hemitom me too. The writer did not give any detail. It was in AutoRestorer. Something about refraction or heat buildup is my best guess - dunno.

I have not done it to my old Mopars (yet, thought I will when the time comes) but when I rebuilt my snowmobile trailer a few years back, I lined the inside of the tail lamp and marker lamp housings with adhesive backed aluminum foil. I thought it brightened them up nicely.

I would think that chrome-in-a-can spray paint would work nicely.
Usually found at your local parts store.

My housings are Argent over Chrome. I'm back to thinking polish that Argent back to the Chrome it covers! (I'll add a few cooling holes just in case)
