The car that I did not even want. Another 72 SE minus engine and trans. Talked to the guy tonight. He is going to deliver it and in exchange I am going to let him keep the 4 wheels and tires that are on it. ( good bargaining on my part as i did not want them anyway ) Looks like I am going to drop a 318/904 in it. I have one that runs decent, trans is a zero mile rebuild. While I would have preferred a BB, the two 400`s and BB 727`s I have are condition unknown. The wife has given me the month of June to get it running/driving and out of the driveway. ;D Looks like my son and I will be busy!

Had the police come out and do the VIN verification this evening. Will get a tag and insurance on it no later than Wednesday. My son and I will rip into it on thursday. The front clip and doors are all coming off. Drivers floor pan will need to be replaced. We will start off by ripping out what little is left of the interior, cleaning it up and pulling the gas tank. I don`t mess around with 35 YO gas tanks, I replace them.
Its hardly perfect but for $1000 I thought it was a decent enough deal and the body not too far gone.
Next time I post pics, It will have engine/trans in it, new front clip with hideaways, 73 bulge hood, Rallye doors, Rallye tail lights.
Has a 71 front bumper and standard 71 Grilles in it right now. I`ll be selling those off to help add a few $$ to the rapidly dwindling projects fund.

Doesnt look too bad at all. Whats up with the radio? I dont know what the deal is with the radio. Just a crappy AM unit with some funky knobs I guess. "Mr. radio, please meet Mr. trash can" We had to bolt a hood on, so I figured why not bolt a real one on it.

Yeah, that hole looks lovely. I too do not think the AM radio is a B body variety. Its probably out of a C body. Once i get it out, I`ll look at the numbers and mounting provisions. Some of the C body radios are similar. You have done very well to get 40-50 for the AM radios. The best I have gotten for a tested, working unit complete with all the knobs is about $30.
This car had been sitting in a junkyard for 20 years. I have 2 pics of it before it was hauled out by the guy I bought it from. We do have a little rust work to do. In addition to the drivers pan, there are a few small holes in door jambs near the hinges and the drivers side trunk pan. I`ve located a good 1/2 trunk pan and should have it soon.

I will let you know about the radio, but I am fairly sure it is not a B body unit. Here is the 2 pics I had of the car in its not so distant Junkyard life. I got it insured and tagged today.
