Sometimes you have to feel underneath to get an idea how much push to give to get 'er free from the clips (notches/grooves?). A foot on the floor and a knee-kick might give the right umph. Sometimes, with your face on the seat and both hands pushing/lifting works.
I've had cars where they pop right out, others that almost put me in traction.

I thought I was going to bust trying to get the bottom cushion out of the Cordoba last year. I was just sure I was going to bend the frame up before it would come loose. But it finally did.

Oh how I wish I were working on the bottom cushion I finally got one side of the back cushion free and the other one just flat wore me out so I called it a night and came in dripping wet with sweat, cursing mad, and a sore head from thumping the dome light when the one side let loose and I fell back. It gets one more chance to cooperate after work tomorrow and then I'm digging out the sawzaw blades. #hack#

Don't do that, Princess. Lay a short 2x4 along the front of it, down near the bottom, and put a bottle jack (on its side) against it and the base of the front seat...then simply jack it "up" until the rear is back far enough for you to lift it up over the clip. I had to do that with the blue car, and it worked like a charm. If they've never been out, they are a b***h to get out. On the other hand the rears came out smoothly on the black car. Guess which one had the build sheet under the seat cushion? Oh, and if the front seat is already pulled, that's even better: Simply cut a 4x4 down to where it just fits across the front edge of the door openings, "tee" another 4x4 to the rear (cut it to the right length to allow for your bottle jack), and then pump against it. (Am I the only Okie Engineer amongst us?)...I find THAT hard to believe!!!

I need to back my bus up....
You're working on the rear BACK support cushion....not the BOTTOM cushion?
If so, it sounds like you haven't bent the hold down tab back straight that is bent over the loop.....should be one on each side of the back cushion.
Know what I mean?
(Guess my whole previous post was a giant waste of my rare and valuable time, huh.) ;D

I thought you just had to push in on the back cushion and lift up and it would release. no wonder the one side let loose so violently

GOT IT!!!!! #DancingBanana# #DancingBanana#
Thanks Jer, Pics of just how good a shape this seat and the floor underneath it are in will be showing up in my resto thread shortly. I was almost shocked how good it was ;D
To make things even better, there were 2 (TWO) build sheets under the seat. one looks almost brand new. I will be posting those to the fender tag build sheet area for decoding soon.
