So I guess that means you bent the first tab back by brute force placed on the cushion, eh? When you get a chance, send me a copy (jpg, xerox, whatever) of your best build sheet and I'll decode it for you... I'm actually getting pretty adept at that. Congrats on the seat removal...you're the man!! [You have to admit, though...Reply #7 of this thread is a classic!!]

I need to back my bus up.... You're working on the rear BACK support cushion....not the BOTTOM cushion? If so, it sounds like you haven't bent the hold down tab back straight that is bent over the loop.....should be one on each side of the back cushion. Know what I mean? (Guess my whole previous post was a giant waste of my rare and valuable time, huh.) ;D Hold down tab? bent over the loop? Be right back, gonna go hit myself in the head with a tack hammer. I thought you just had to push in on the back cushion and lift up and it would release. no wonder the one side let loose so violently Man, I thought I was the only one who did stuff like that! Glad you finally got it out eck!

Maybe it is stuck because in a former life that back seat saw a lot of "action". Do you really want to see what is under it?

I've never rebent the tabs after installing the rear seat back. The rear seat base holds the back in place. Does anybody else leave this step out?

I just rebent slightly the tabs to kepp more less teh seat back in place, because since I have dissasembled the car many times I don't want to rebent at all the tabs to be safe from broken them!

This is a good thread overall. We all "learnt" some new seat removal techniques.
Eck, there are tabs holding the seat back in place.
I put the tabs back in their slots, but don't bend them back.
Why do E-bodies have bolts instead of tabs?
